In the Orthodox Church worship is the medium by which everything else is sustained by God ... doctrine, prayer, discipleship ... everything ... has its source in the offering of praise to God and in the mysteries (sacraments) by which He transforms our lives and through us the Cosmos itself.
Orthodoxy cannot be "book learned" although study is an indispensible part of gaining a better understanding of it. "Book learning" is the idea that by reading one can fill our heads with all sorts of useful stuff and that itself is sufficient to become Orthodox. It is not. One becomes Orthodox by living the life and by being part of the worshipping community. So, it is to worship that we now turn.
